Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Paul Swanston is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Strike Group Limited Partnership. With nearly 25 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, risk management, human resources, and IT, Paul brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to the organization.

Paul joined Strike in 2024, leveraging his extensive background in leading finance teams in dynamic and high-growth environments across domestic and US markets. His ability to develop complex financial models and forecasts, manage risk, and provide actionable financial insights along with his operational focus and ensuring effective cross-functional support aligns with Strike’s vision to be a sustainable, professionally led, and profitable organization.

Paul’s prior experience is primarily within the energy and the oilfield services sector.  Prior to Strike, Paul held CFO positions at Bothar Inc. and EnerCorp Engineered Solutions and previously worked at CES Energy Solutions, Canacol Energy, Deloitte, and Husky Energy.  Through his prior roles, Paul held key roles overseeing substantial growth, executing upon strategic mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, and securing debt and equity financing.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and is both a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.  Outside of Strike, Paul remains actively involved in his community, serving on various boards and committees.  He is currently serving as a Director for the South Calgary Primary Care Network and the Mako Water Polo Club.
